Attention management involves focusing on the right tasks at the right times for the right reasons, rather than obsessing over how to allocate time. It means prioritizing meaningful work that intrinsically motivates you, structuring your day around peaks of energy and creativity, and allowing judicious distractions rather than eliminating them entirely. Time management treats productivity as a virtue in itself, while attention management recognizes productivity as a means to an end - doing work that truly matters. By managing our attention rather than just our time, we can be more productive on what counts.
