Just as ultra-processed foods reshaped our bodies, ultra-processed information is reshaping our minds. Cheap, synthetic content floods our screens, crowding out deep, nourishing engagement much like junk food crowds out real nutrition. The result isn’t physical obesity—it’s mental, cognitive, and attentional decline. As we adapted poorly to an environment of easy calories, we now face a similar threat in an environment of endless, addictive information. Protecting our attention is the new frontier of health.
